Lyngenfjord House is a Bed and Breakfast accommodation in the quiet green village of Cape St Francis - at the most southern point of the Eastern Cape. The name Lyngenfjord comes from the Norwegian Cargo Steamer which sank off our coastline in 1938.
Michael and Elza van Lingen, the owners, who retired from farming, entertain guests with true Eastern Cape hospitality in a family accommodation atmosphere. Here guests experience many typical South African traditions, especially at the lavish breakfasts.
Guests have spectacular, panoramic views of the beach and ocean from their bedroom accommodation, private balconies, both lounges, the dining area and the pool terrace ideal for whale and dolphin watching. The antique Cape Dutch furniture, from the late 1800s, complements and warms the spacious accommodation.

Our accommodation consists of six en-suite bedrooms which are spacious and comfortable. The panoramic views of the sea, the Seal Point surf and the beach break are breathtaking and exhilarating.
The lounge balcony upstairs is ideal for a relaxing read, watching the whales and dolphins, checking the surf at Seals or a sundowner. The patio at the pool is great for breakfast or a typical South African braai.
We have one sea-facing bedroom (Room 1) on the ground floor that is wheelchair friendly. Our paraplegic guests can move around the lounge, dining room, bedroom and pool deck with ease. Parking is also available on the same level.
Our guests often watch the whales and dolphins splashing in the waves below from their beds, the breakfast table or the pool side. |
