This valley is surrounded by the skurweberg, Witzenberg, Matroosberg and Theronberg ranges. The only way to enter Ceres is by Pass- Michelspass, Gydopass and Theronsbergpass. Due to the surrounding mountains there is less wind in the valley. The farming areas are called the Warmbokkeveld and Kouebokkeveld.
