This historical Old Victorian house, built in 1890, was first used as Mine Offices and during the South African War as a mess by the British troops. It was in possession of the Wormal family for 50 years, and in 1996 it was converted into a guest house.
It is situated in a "kloof" on the slopes of the Mkhonjwe Mountains, overlooking the town of Barberton and the De Kaap valley, this old Victorian Style house with its spacious veranda provides an opportunity for relaxation.
It is ideally situated to explore the town with its rich historic heritage as well as the surrounding nature splendour.
It has got one double bedroom en-suite and two twin rooms with a private bathroom, we can accommodate 8 people at ease.

The aim at Aloe Ridge Guest Farm is to promote the environment, to engender a sense of the peace and to encourage visitors to make full use of it by being outdoors. Birdlife on the farm is actively promoted, by planting bird attracting flora. Many of the birds can be seen from the walks around the property and the gardens. We have 3 B & B units at the main farmhouse with queen or twin beds. The 2 self catering cottages are planned for families and groups; they are ideally situated to take in the spectacular views and the quiet, natural surroundings. One cottage sleeps 6; the second cottage 4; both have 2 main bedrooms (ensuite) plus separate bathrooms. Facilities at the farmhouse are available for all guests to use. Aloe Ridge herbs & vegetables are grown organically for inclusion in the breakfasts, preserves and other products.

The name is derived from the coach road between Barberton and Delgoa Bay, used by transport riders delivering supplies to the many gold prospectors during the gold rush days of 1874-1898.
